South Korea names team

ISLAMABAD, Sept 6: The Korean team which will take on Pakistan in the Asia Oceania Davis Cup Group I second playoff this month in Lahore, has been named.

Pakistan tennis officials said that the party for the Sept 19-21 tie comprises Choon-ho-Kim, who is the non-playing captain while other members are Young-Joon Kim, Kyu-Tae Im, Hee-Seok Chung and Hee-Sung Chung.

The team’s highest ranked player is Young who stands at No 365 in the world followed by Kyu who is 532.

The ITF referees for the tie to be played at Lahore’s Defence Club are Gary Au-Yeung of Hong Kong and Egypt’s Ahmed Azeem while the umpire will be Yugoslavia’s Vladimir Erg.

Pakistan squad for the tie will be Aisamul Haq, Aqeel Khan, Nomi Qamar and Jalil Khan with Rashid Malik the non-playing captain.
