MANSEHRA, June 21: A love marriage has ended in a tragedy here as a Karachi girl, who eloped with a local resident, was brutally killed in Shungli area of Oghi tehsil.

Police said the husband chopped the girl’s body into pieces before burying them in his house’s backyard last week.

SHO of Oghi police station Mohammad Sohail told reporters that police had seized parts of the body the other day after raiding the killer’s house on a tip-off.

The SHO said during interrogation, Lal Mohammad, who worked in Karachi, told police that his brother, Mohammad Haroon, had killed his wife, chopped the body into pieces and buried them in his house’s backyard. He said the reason for the killing was not known.

The SHO said the body parts were autopsied at the Civil Hospital, Oghi.

He said the woman belonged to Karachi and had eloped with the killer nine month ago before settling in Oghi area. He said the man killed wife with the help of his first wife.

The SHO said the preliminary investigation showed that the killer used to work at a bungalow in Karachi.

He said an FIR had been registered against the killer and his first wife.

WOULD-BE BRIDE KILLED: A woman was killed by her brother on Friday a few hours before her marriage in Noguzi area here.

Azizur Rehman told police that the marriage ceremony of his daughter, Sadia Bibi, was underway at his house and the bridegroom was about to show up from Garihabibullah when his son, Mohammad Amraz, shot her dead and escaped. He said his son was opposed to the marriage.

Police handed over the body to the family after postmortem at King Abdullah Teaching Hospital.

They registered a case against the accused and began investigation.

However, he couldn’t be arrested by night.
