THE Federal Medical and Dental College (FMDC), the first government medical college in the federal territory, is affiliated with PIMS and Quaid-i-Azam University. These top-notch institutes are the biggest reasons why students prefer the FMDC. The project, undoubtedly, has been a great achievement on the part of the previous government, though, unfortunately, it has neither been maintained nor developed as it should have given bright and brilliant prospects of the future of this very college at the time of its birth.

Had there been any serious efforts to solve, on time, issues such as highly deficient faculty, scarce facilities and lack of transport facility, the situation and status of the college would have been different. The very prerequisites of establishing a medical college-- required number of professors, instructors, etc.-- have not even been fulfilled Unlike other medical and dental colleges, which are successfully and appreciably run by principals/heads, it seems like there is no one to take the responsibility and thi has led to further increase in the problems faced by students. Furthermore, it is highly surprising as to why the PMDC or Quaid- i- Azam University has taken no action since the results of first professional examinations have not been announced even after two months of the examinatioms.

It is a grave situation and college authorities have been unresponsive throughout.
