QUETTA: Armed men kidnapped three relatives of former Balochistan governor Nawab Zulfiqar Magsi in Mastung district of the province on Sunday.

Levies sources told Dawn.com that armed men kidnapped Mehrullah Magsi and other two relatives of the former Balochistan governor from Dasht Tehsil of Mastung district.

They said that three Magsi tribesmen were coming back from Jhal Magsi to Quetta when they were picked up by armed men in Dasht area.

Sources said that the ill-fated Mehrullah Magsi was coming to take his daughter's dead body for burial in Jhal Magsi when abducted. Magsi's daughter had died in a suicide attack on Quetta's women university on Friday.

Levies and police launched a joint search operation in the area to ensure the recovery of three Magsi tribesmen. There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
