PM, Chaudhry Nisar discuss interior ministry’s agenda, priorities

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s House on Saturday.

During the meeting, the two discussed the agenda and priorities of the interior ministry under the present government.

The federal minister said the ministry would continue to cooperate with all provincial governments and provide them all possible assistance in order to maintain law and order.

Nisar said officers of proven integrity and competence would be appointed in the interior ministry, adding that they would be expected to uphold merit and continue to deliver.

He informed Prime Minister Sharif that a detailed presentation would be made to him on the interior ministry shortly to seek his guidance.

The prime minister expressed the hope that effective measures would be taken by the interior ministry in order to fulfill public expectations.

Mr. Minister !!! I wish you could give peace and little sense of security to the people of Karachi who are being robbed and killed everyday and it seems no one is there to hear their cries or wipe their tears. We would support you if you catch culprit regardless of his ethnicity or political affiliations. WE JUST WANT PEACE IN THE CITY for us and our children.....

Chaudhry Nisar has taken the position at crucial juncture. Law and order situation is worst and should be the top most priority of the government. Compromise, as has been done in the past is no solution. The Karachi issue should also be solved as criminals have their say there and they hold the Karachiites hostage. There are many gangs operating there and should be dealt with iron hand. If they are not caught and get punished, it implies that they can strike any time again. 'Temporary silence' should not be the policy.

A true Govt servant needs to be very open and honest in all respects. If a person tries to be honest in one area and not in other parts of his life, you can call it anything but honesty and openness. If they have been corrupt in one incidence they can be corrupt in all others areas too because their inhibitions become dis-inhibited. I hope the new leaders including all Ministers fall in open and honest categories otherwise they will be no different than what we have seen before.

Nisar is just repeating the words of PM and has no agenda. Nisar has to leave Islamabad and reside in Karachi like honorable Babar of PPP to show his ability of interior minister. Peace in Karachi is not words of statement as Nisar keeps on doing right or wrong. Nisar to get up on his toes and help sincerely to PM. OR quit
