Rizvi also served as honorary secretary of Anjuman Taraqqi-i-Urdu Pakistan (ATUP).

Both Rizvi and his driver succumbed to their injuries on their way to hospital. Their bodies have been shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

Deputy Commissioner Karachi Central Dr Saifur Rehman has confirmed the incident saying unidentified motorcyclists opened fire at Rizvi’s car in Karimabad area killing him and the driver.

Taking notice of the incident, Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan has ordered a probe report from the IG Sindh Police within next 24 hours.

Pakistan Association of Press photographers, Private Schools Association, Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM), Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain among others have strongly condemned the brutal killing of the educationist.
