CM, cabinet sworn in

KARACHI, May 30: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad administrated the oath of office of the chief minister to Syed Qaim Ali Shah late on Thursday evening. He was earlier elected leader of the house by the Sindh Assembly.

The governor also administrated the oath of office to a seven-member provincial cabinet, comprising Nisar Ahmed Khuhro (PS-36, Larkana-II), Manzoor Hussain Wassan (PS-32, Khairpur-IV), Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani (PS-16, Jacobabad-cum-Kashmore), Makhdoom Jamil Zaman (PS-43, Matiari), Dr Sikandar Mandhro (PS-58, Badin-II), Sharjeel Inam Memon (PS-50, Hyderabad-VI) and Ali Nawaz Mahar (PS-6, Ghotki-II).

The swearing-in ceremony held at the Governor House was conducted by chief secretary Ejaz Chaudhry who afterwards announced that Syed Murad Ali Shah had been inducted as an adviser, said a spokesperson for the Governor House.

Later, newly sworn-in Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah along with his cabinet held the first formal meeting with the governor.

Earlier, the caretaker cabinet led by the caretaker chief minister, retired Justice Zahid Kurban Alavi, made a farewell call on the governor.
