LAHORE, May 29: Weather became pleasant on Wednesday evening after so many extremely hot days, providing a temporary relief to the people facing harsh summer in the presence of the worst-ever loadshedding.

Specks of clouds also rolled in with the soft and soothing wind. Sun blazed earlier in the day, but strong gusty winds continued to whip away the heat it was spitting over the city.

The wind kept the maximum temperature down to 38 degrees Celsius, much less than it had been during the past over one week. The temperature was around 30 degrees Celsius at 9pm.

The change in weather was brought in by a westerly wave over Kashmir.

It also kept temperatures less than 40 degrees Celsius in many cities in central and north Punjab.

The Met office, however, says the relief is temporary and the temperature may start gradually rising in the plains of the country from Friday.

It expects gusty winds to keep temperatures somewhat low in Punjab in the next 24 hours. It will also remain partly cloudy in Lahore.
