KARACHI: Upon Sindh governor’s timely notice on the prevailing power crisis in the metropolis, Karachi Electricity Supply Company (KESC) and Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) on Monday night agreed to put aside their differences and to end the additional loadshedding in Karachi, DawnNews reported.

Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan had taken a serious notice of the issue after Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Haider Abbas Rizvi brought to light the electricity crisis in Karachi, calling it ‘artificial’ during a press conference earlier in the day.

The governor had summoned the heads of KESC and SSGC at the governor house to resolve the matter.

It was decided to put an immediate stop to the additional loadshedding in both residential and industrial areas of Karachi – the financial and economic hub of Pakistan.

On the other hand, the MQM has also vowed its complete assistance to the government in tackling the crisis.

Rizvi, during the said news conference, had alleged that supply of around 90 million MMCFD gas to Sui Northern Gas Company by the SSGC has led to the current electricity and water crisis in Karachi.
