KARACHI: The Registrar of the Sindh High Court wrote a letter on Monday to the Election Commission of Pakistan expressing reservations over the set up of election appellate tribunals adding that they (the tribunals) were set up without consulting the Sindh High Court, DawnNews reported.

The letter said that the election tribunals were set up in the province without consulting the Sindh High Court adding that the election tribunals were to be set up with prior consultation with the Chief Justices of the respective provincial High Courts according to the Supreme Court of Pakistan's orders.

The Election Commission had approved formation of 14 election tribunals in the provinces to decide disputes during general elections within 120 days of filing of a petition.
