MARDAN, May 20: Two persons were killed and two others received injuries when their opponents allegedly opened fire at them in Gharibabad area of Mayar here on Monday, police said.

The officials of Hoti police station quoted the injured person Abid Ali as saying he along with his relatives was returning from a funeral prayer in Mayar locality when their rivals opened fire over them killing his relatives Asghar and Iftikhar on the spot. Abid Ali said he and a minor identified as Zubair received bullet injuries.He, however, told police cause of the incident was an old enmity between the families of the victims and the killers.

The police officials registered FIR on the compliant of Abid Ali against the alleged killers identified as Mohammad Hussain, Bilal, Shahzib and Iqbal and started efforts to arrest the accused who fled the scene. — Correspondent
