MINGORA, May 19: Central senior vice president of Pakistan Muslim League-N Engr Ameer Muqam has claimed that though the PML-N is in a ‘position’ to form the government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, it will respect the mandate of Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf.

Despite defeat in May 11 election in Swat and other parts of Malakand division, the PML-N will continue to serve the people of the area, he vowed while addressing a party meeting at his residence in Sangota, Swat on Saturday.

The newly-elected MNA from NA-31, Shangla, Dr Ebad Ullah, MPAs Mohammad Rashad Khan and Qaimoos Khan were also present at the function.

Mr Muqam said though PTI fell short of simple majority in KP, yet they invited it to form the government.

THREE DROWN: Three people drowned in River Swat on Saturday. In the first incident, a 16-year-old boy Tariq Kamal drowned at a picnic spot in Madyan. Tariq, a first year student, was bathing in the river when gushing water swept him away.

In the second incident, Sher Alam of Grothai drowned while crossing the river. His body was later fished out.

Similarly, 17-year-old Mohammad Bilal of Balakot also drowned in the river. Search for his body was continuing till late night.

PENSIONERS SEEK RAISE: All Pakistan Pensioners Association (APPA), Swat chapter, on Sunday demanded raise in their pension and medical allowance.

The demand was made at a meeting held with the association’s district president Fazal Mabood Khan in chair. The participants di-scussed the problems being faced by pensioners.—Correspondent
