I AM a resident of Clifton, Block 5, and neighbour to a private institute of science and technology. It is a top-ranking institution in the country and in the region earning respectable awards.

But I am utterly disappointed with the institute’s management as on almost every weekend musical concerts are arranged at the institutes’ premises that start late in the evening and continue beyond midnight and in some instances beyond 1.00 am.

The area where this prestigious institute is located is a residential one surrounded by apartments and town houses and due to the noise of these musical events, infants, schoolchildren and senior citizens residing in the vicinity suffer. Complaints lodged by the residents with the institute’s management have fallen on deaf ears.
