KARACHI, Feb 15: All the seven questions that came up during the question hour in Friday’s session of the Sindh Assembly were disposed of within a couple of minutes as none of the three legislators who had asked the questions arrived when their questions came up for discussion. The session, with Deputy Speaker Shehla Raza in the chair, started at 11.25am, one hour and 25 minutes behind its scheduled time of 10am, as mentioned in the order of the day, and the question hour — that pertained to the Auqaf and wildlife departments — began at 11.35am. Four of the seven questions mentioned in the order of the day were asked by National People’s Party legislator Arif Jatoi while two others were asked by Heer Soho and one by Aleem-ur-Rehman — both belonging to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement. As the question hour started, Speaker Shehla Raza, called legislators’ names one by one and as no one responded she concluded the question hour at 11.37am. While the chief minister, who holds the ministry of Auqaf to which three questions were posed, was not in the house, Dr Dayaram, the minister in-charge of the wildlife department to which four questions were posed, was present, he could not give answers because the legislators asking the questions were not in the assembly.
