MANSEHRA, Jan 20: A dogfighting competition was held at Shahlia area here on Sunday, which attracted a large number of people.

Azhar Khan, organiser of the event, while speaking on the occasion said that dogfighting was a popular traditional sport of Hazara like bull race and Gatka.

A large number of spectators reached the venue which was prepared in the middle of mountains and the main and link roads to the venue remained blocked for many hours due to heavy rush.

Owners of various rare species of dogs known for their strength and stamina were bought to the venue from different parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and those declared winners were given prizes. — Correspondent
