I HAVE been listening a lot about our cricket and hockey teams visiting India for test matches and the treatment they are receiving there.

I cannot understand why we should be so anxious to play with Indians in India when they do not show any interest in coming to Pakistan to play matches. We are not only making a mockery of ourselves but are also exposing our weakness to them.

Some competent authority must investigate this matter.

Osman Everyone has the right to love his life & prolong it as much as possible. Visiting Pak is not in line with this. So the teams do not visit.

Pakistan begs India to come and play in India. It must stop this. It does not look good for Pakistan or for India. Nor does it benefit anything.

Saadat Hasan Manto's plays were still enacted in Delhi, by a joint Pakistani and India team, even though the government itself had withdrawn support. Maybe cricketers, and more importantly hockey players, should show the same determination ? Borderlines have no meaning to talent. We all know that.

" cricket and hockey teams visiting India for test matches and the treatment they are receiving there." ..what an irresponsible statement , allowing to play or not is a different issue, but talking about treatment let me tell u that all the players are staying in 5 star hotels and are being treated at par with developed nations!...u know that very well , yet you need to make a statement to draw media attention!
does not matter

When even your fellow muslim brothers ( read Bangladesh) don't want to come to play in Pakistan , then why do you expect Indian team to visit?

The most competent authority for this investigation would be the ISI. The reasons for the players to come to India are mainly economic in nature - which is absolutely OK as far as I am concerned. Every human being has the right to get a better life that is there birthright.

It is pity that you are not able to understand the simple facts. Your country is amongst the most dangerous & volatile place in the world , where daily bomb explosions & killings of innocents are norms. While arts & sports need congenial atmosphere to flourish. I regret to say that the things donot seems to change in a hurry, for the simple reason that the solution can be found only when you acknowledge the problem, while your government is in permanent denial mode always. Perhaps I can offer a different perspective on this issue. As a Pakistani American residing in the US for a long time, I have come in contact with a lot of Indians. Most of them are very nice, helpful, educated and friendly people. They are closest to us in terms of language and culture. On a person to person level, I think that there are no issues between us, however, the equation changes when it comes to establishing friendly ties at government level. Most likely it is due the pressure of domestic politics and public perception of 'becoming friends' with our 'enemy' on both sides of the border. Their are special interest groups in both countries too that benefit the status quo tense relations between the two countries (most politicians, military establishment, religious extremist to name a few). With this pre-text and background, I find it impossible to maintain long-lasting friendly relations between the two countries. We should perhaps focus on non-confrontational strategy and avoid wars, consequences of which pushes both countries many decades back in terms of infra-structure development, poverty alleviation, mass education efforts, and improved public health. All-in-all 'amman key asha' sponsored by 'Jang group' in Pakistan and 'Times of India' in India, is a very well thought and practical strategy that can benefit both sides. Peace will ensure that the majority of the poor people on both sides have a better shot at alleviating their standard of living and becoming better productive citizens.

No international team wants to risk their lives in Pakistan since the attack of Sri Lanka cricket team. Pakistan is still reeling with terror attacks. Security is only provided to politicians.

Please do not go. You come because there is no where else for you. You come to India for the hospitals, entertainment and the sports. What does Pakistan have to offer India that cannot be imported from elsewhere.... Biriyani perhaps lol

Dear Mr Malik,Your disappointment is understandable. But very few in Pakistan try to find out the root cause. Perhaps you are not aware that Indians are equally keen to organize the sports and cultural events, which improve the people to people contact. Venues of the events are shifted to less volatile places. But every time the relation tends to improve some or other incident takes place which force the Indian government to back track.
