The label HSY has always been synonymous with impeccable taste and style in outstanding menswear. Here, Hassan Sheheryar Yasin once again brings to vibrant life eastern splendour and wizardry of the embroidered craft by presenting an earth-tone palette in kurtas adorned and embellished with same-colour silk thread embroidery and sparsely offset by darker undertones. The result is nothing short of spectacular and simply magical. Photographed in and around the cityscape of Karachi by Arif Mahmood, he captures it in the classic ‘golden hour’ known in a fashion photographer’s terminology as the late afternoon when the setting sun casts a rich golden glow, giving a gilded touch to an already burnished palette. The model of choice, Omer Shahzad, accentuates and compliments the classy outfits by way of his outstanding body language and posture, resulting in a fashion spread that simply takes the breath away. At a time when male-oriented shoots are become an increasing rarity allegedly due to the lack of glitz and glamour, this spread belies the notion that only a female fashion model can represent and bring to glamourous life the collective creative genius of a fashion designer and photographer. — Irfan Qamar
