LAHORE, Dec 16: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Sunday discussed with Punjab Governor Latif Khosa and PPP provincial chief Manzoor Wattoo the trend among party’s parliamentarians of quitting the party to join the PML-N or PTI.

Some other PPP leaders also joined the meeting held at the Governor’s House here to formulate a strategy for winning back loyalties of those MPs, who have already left or planning to leave the party, by resolving their grievances and reservations regarding the party policies.

Prime Minister Ashraf was quoted as telling the PPP office- bearers and MPs that some members of the rival parties were also in contact with them but they considered as ‘uncivilized’ the act of luring the people to change loyalties by offering them certain incentives.

He regretted a certain party had started making the political waters muddy even before elections but tried to comfort those present in the meeting that the PPP was still in a good position to win the elections which, he said, would be held in time and in a transparent manner.

The meeting was going on even late on Sunday night in a bid to chalk out a plan for checking more dents in the party.
