LAHORE, Dec 15: The PML-Q and PPP committees, headed by Moonis Elahi and Mian Manzoor Wattoo, will meet by the end of this month to finalise seat adjustment in Punjab.

“I am in contact with Deputy Prime Minister Pervaiz Elahi and by the end of this month the PPP-PML-Q committees will start finalising the process of seat adjustment on all constituencies of Punjab,” Manzoor Wattoo said.

Talking to Dawn on Saturday, he said the PPP had almost completed its homework and both parties would field consensus candidates in coming elections.

He said President Zardari had made it clear that the PPP leadership had accepted the PML-Q from the core of their heart and it was not a superfluous relation.

Mr Wattoo denied the claim of PML-Q’s State Minister Rana Asif Tauseef that he called on him and asked him to contest from the PPP platform. “I have not contacted any PML-Q leader including Mr Tauseef. Since we are going into elections along with the PML-Q, its candidates will be ours and ours will be theirs,” he said.
