KARACHI, Dec 13: The Sindh High Court Bar Association on Thursday demanded that the judicial policy making committee withdraw the Dec 31 deadline given to the subordinate judiciary to dispose of all pending cases.

A general body meeting of the SHCBA condemned the decision of the JPMC and adopted a unanimous resolution. The resolution said that the committee’s decision violated Article 10-A of the constitution and such a decision amounted to “justice hurried is justice buried”.

It further said that the presiding officers of the lower courts were under immense pressure in disposing of cases in a hurry in any possible manner which amounted to denial of justice.

“The general body calls upon the judicial policy making committee to withdraw the deadline,” the resolution concluded.
