I WONDER why students at Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, (MUET), Jamshoro, do not protest on the issues which should be resolved immediately.

I have always seen students making demands such as transport on the occasion of G.M. Syed and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s death anniversaries.

Have anyone of these students ever thought about charges for the issuance of a bachelor’s degree at the university? We pay Rs4,615 for the issuance of degree.

The Liaquat University of Medical Health and Sciences and Sindh University do not charge that much money and one has to spend about Rs500 to Rs1,200 for the issuance of degree. I believe one will hardly find any university in Pakistan asking to pay more than Rs4,000 for the issuance of a degree. Moreover, the paper quality of  bachelor’s degree and its printed format isn’t worth that much amount of money. I request students of the MUET to raise their voice on genuine issues and save newcomers from continuous suffering.

Mr. Khatri, you are absolutely correct. the paper and print quality of degrees from Liaquat University is so poor that I had to get it repaired at a print shop in Karachi. Matter of fact, the paper quality and print quality of the degrees from Indian online university is so much better than the Karachi University. even after charging so much for the degrees why cant our university produce a better degrees, I'd like students to raise slogans at upcoming university day. Our children deserve much more than this especially after all the floods, power outages and terrorism in Pakistan.
