The international community and the Pakistani nation observed Malala Day on Nov 10. It was meant to honour the young girl whose bravery and love for education has now assumed legendary proportions.

Sadly, Pakistani TV channels, which drum into our ears every international day or occasion with painful regularity, did not show any programme to mark the day or to highlight Malala Yousufzai’s achievements. This goes to show where the priorities of our media outlets lie. When it suits them to harp on a certain subject they do so with zeal and enthusiasm. When it doesn’t, they do not give a hoot.
