JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman. – File Photo

ISLAMABAD: Maulana Fazlur Rehman said on Friday that attack on Malala Yousufzai was the result of wrong policies of the government, DawnNews reported.

He said that people were protesting against the attack on Malala just because it was a pro-American stance.

Fazl said that politicians who were urging the condemnation on the attack on a 14-year old girl have disturbed the peace of Karachi.

He repeated the popular slogan “How long will people be slave of the United States?”

Fazlur Rehman said that Ulemas have condemned the attack on Malala but who will condemn the attack on the mosques. He said that the attack was a brutal act but not everyone is condemning it out of sympathy with the girl.

He urged the government to correct its policies and stop suporting the’ US stance’.

Some one should tell me the reason of this attack. Why Taliban wanted to kill her.? I never heard about Malala prior to this. Why she was the target.?

America wants Pakistani children to be free of polio, that's why we do vaccinations. American wants Pakistani children to be educated, that's why we support schools. America isn't interested in making slaves of Pakistanis (or of anyone else, really), America is not the enemy of Pakistan and never has been. The Taliban is lying, they recognize that education is their enemy, but they try to convince everyone that the enemy is America - but the REAL enemy, both yours and ours, is the Taliban.

War has been going on for some time between religous people and non religous. Or you can say true follower of Islam and those who do not follow Islam, but consider them Muslim. I called them pro-western.

Would Mr. Fazl ur Rehman like to elaborate how he regards the protest against the shooting of a young girl as a pro US stance. Are the people of Pakistan now not not even be allowed to protest when their own children are the target of brutality. As regards to the Ulema condemning it one only needs to have a look at the orchestrated protests on the streets when it suits the religious lobby and the verbal condemnation we saw in response to the shooting of this young girl. The pronouncement of the alleged Ulema like many before cannot be regarded as 'Islam' for neither are they the sole voice claiming to be of Islam nor the sole interpreters of Islam. They like other politicians are affected by power and one can only but speculate whether the alleged Ulema would have made any pronouncements had the public sentiment not been so powerful. History might enlighten us more as regards to the motives and actions of this lobby.

As long as these unscrupulous mullahs remain in our country and have a following, we will not be able to root out religious extremism and "tyranny in the name of religion" from our country. Fazlur Rehman is a person not worthy of being spoken about. He and mullahs like him use, misue and abuse religion as they please. These people are shameless and have no fear of God. They will continue winning elections if we don't expose their corrupt ways to the masses and especially to the people in areas where they draw support from. I appeal to all media companies to help this cause since they are poised to do this job in the most effective manner.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman Please don't turn the page, you should pray for Malala yousefzai for quick recovery and may allah give his family a peace of mind, as we all know she is in critical condition. US has nothing to do, she was a daughter of PAKISTAN, she has a leader quality, and she did incourage other student to study, and be some body. Whole world is crying and praying for her and USA , europe , middle east , all are ready to help. Even President obama offer all kind of help... She is more famous than you and she is only 14yrs old. Your duty (FARAZ) is to pray for her she is like your grand daughter.....Dont talk negative about USA, you should help the government and get rid of TERRORIST. I hope you understand what I am talking about. "Please keep politics OUT" Sincerely, Ash Mirza (USA)

So what are you saying Maulana? Are you justifying or condemning the attack? Do you stand for women's right to education or not? Is it possible to get a clear answer or you are afraid too ?? The 14 year old was not afraid of anyone, thanks to her millions of children in Pakistan are Malala today...... .

It is not clear whether Maulana Fazal Ur Rehman oppose or support the taliban attack on 14 years old girl. Can he be more specific please. The people of Pakistan wants to know whether he stands with people of Pakistan or with Taliban. He should not confuse the issue by mincing words.
