KARACHI: Pakistan's Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and his mixed doubles partner Su-Wei Hsieh of Taiwan crashed out of the US Open after losing in the first round on Thursday.

Qureshi and Hesieh lost to Kveta Peschke of Czech Republic and Marcin Matkowski of Poland 6-4, 6-4 in a match which lasted one hour and ten minutes.

Pakistan's most successful tennis player will play his first round men's doubles match with partner Jean Julien Rojer later in the day. The pair are seeded 14 and their opponents are yet to be decided.

Qureshi and his previous partner Rohan Bopanna, dubbed the Indo-Pak express,  finished as runners up at the 2010 US Open but crashed out in the semi-finals last year. The pair split upin December in order to focus on the Olympics.
