ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has vowed to fulfill his promise of marching to the tribal region of Waziristan as a show of solidarity with the locals.

Khan, who plans to take a convoy to the South Waziristan tribal region along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, was addressing a press conference along with tribal leaders in the capital on Saturday.

“The people of Waziristan are supportive of our peace march,” Khan told reporters, adding that security arrangements for the march would be undertaken by locals of the tribal region. Khan said a convoy of local and international journalists would be a taken along to the tribal regions in PTI’s ‘peace march.’

The PTI chief insisted that a military operation in North Waziristan could only be successful if locals were taken into confidence. He slammed the resurgence of US-led Nato drone attacks inside Pakistan’s tribal regions and claimed that locals have been killed in these missile strikes.

“There have been 12 drone attacks in the last 24 hours. The government should name the terrorists who they claim have been killed in these attacks.”

Slamming the Pakistan People’s Party led government, Khan said the ruling party came into power to fulfill “American agenda” and termed it an “NRO government.”

Running a civilaztion is different than winning a world cup.you don't make leaders out of celebrities and philantrapist.why tiger wood don't stand for presidential race in America or Bachan in India. Because American and Indian are comparatively mature nation than us.

US is the ONLY country in the world that officially doesn't recognise the World Court. However, it expects other countries to honor the court's verdicts.

If Allah has decided for him to serv the nation and take us out of todays shame by getting rid of Mir Jaffers and Mir Sadiqs then don't you worry Moiz. I will be part of that march and would save this only hope of pakistan by taking any/every bullet on my chest. Just imagin if a march like the one which headed towards Islamabad for judiciary follows Imran to wazirastan would talban then not welcome it against drons.

All power to Imran and the people of Pakistan. May his endeavors be successful, and may he bring all those responsible for our troubles to account. May he and his Navy Seal team succeed in saving Pakistan from the clutches of dishonest and incompetent leaders and hold them accountable.

I agree with Ahmer. I do not trust anybody in Pakistan politics. Before election, they all claims to be honest and true representative of people. But I do have hope .

If one does not promise such, one does not get elected. A leader has to be upbeat and positive, and dare I say inspiring?

yes.. This march would prove to be a final nail in the coffin of the major right wing parties, especially to one that is ruling in Punjab right now, which is already feeling some heat since the mega PTI rally of 30th October 2011, Lahore!!

A little light about the people of Waziristan. They are very hospitable people and their traditions compell them to take the utmost care of their guests. Imran is their guest and I am 101 % sure they can die for Imran but won't let any harm come in his way. Brave men are not afraid of death, and Imran is brave. The prayers of the partiots are with you. Fe Amaan Ullah.

Mr.Imran Khan, you are a great leader but i am disappointed at the fact that you are paying more attention to this Marches rather than helping a little child suffering from down syndrome rotting in a jail cell close to where you live for something she probably wasn't even aware of or maybe didn't even do. I would request you to help people such as her and closer to you to set an example for everyone else

I expect a similar rally from Imran Khan on the killing of Shia's and other minorities in Pakistan. He might not get much politically by taking out such a rally, but by doing so he can establish himself a true leader representing all segments of the society.

Look there has been and still is law and order in Wazirstan. Don't paint the people there as savages ! They may have a different mindset than ours but there was mutuall accepatance of that until 9.11. They accept outsiders as guests as long the latter behaves as such They don't create heroes. Imran's visit is not a Bollywood drama. Please don't hype it up! What next prayers for his safe return in Mosques.? How estranged are pakistanis from each other!

Imran, you are a courageous man. Please consider your own safety and security as No. 1 priority. You have many inside enemies. People can murder their own family members for personal gains. You are a good target for them. You are only good for this nation once you are alive. We pray for your safety. For sure you are not coward, for the future of this nation, I request you to please re-consider your decision.

It is well known that American agenda is to destroy the enemies of America who are also enemies of Pakistan. These militants and terrorists are killing innocent Pakistanis and destroying Government of Pakistan properties on a daily basis. Mr. Imran Khan wishes to appease the militants and terrorists to win the support of some population in Waziristan to beat his rivals President Zardari and Mr. Nawaz Sharif in forthcoming election. Best luck Mr. Imran Khan!

I think its good idea, no one is protesting against these Drone Attacks. Govt and Army is sleeping as if these attacks are carried out side Pakistani soil. Afsoos, Govt and army leader both forgot their responsibilities and busy in looting the assests and hard earn money of citizens of Pakistan. Good Job Imran Khan. Waiting for the elections to come, my vote goes to you. Asim

Imran and PTI is the party of the day for pakistan-everyone should vote for him and if he stops corruption at the top that will fix pakistan 30% already. If he strenghtens thekey institutions then he would have fixed 50% of pakistans problems-I say let him come and pakistan prosper.

Imran Khan will one day answer for the Pakistani lives lost because of the disinformation he is spreading that portrays the enemy attacking Pakistan as "our people" and portrays the civilized world (which is united in defending themselves from the terrorists who have been provided a safe haven in Pakistan) as the enemy. The fact that the Zardari government has failed to counter Imran Khan's disinformation by providing leadership to the nation in ensuring law and order in all parts of Pakistan is of course an even bigger problem.

This is one of the points on which I disagree with Imran, If operation is not suppose to launch then should we hand over all Pakistan to these foreigners so that they can expand there militant activities and spread terrorism in Pakistan & all over world. The taliban/Terrorists agenda is clear they said it several times and showing it to Pakistanis on a daily basis and when they captured Swat. Waziristan is part of Pakistan if Pakistani Govt fails to control it and foreigners spread terror in Pakistan & other countries then someone will attack through Drone or with other available resources, Dont blame others. Imran should leave his Pashtun nationalist mindset and think as a Pakistani.
