BAGRAM: A rocket fired on a US airbase in Afghanistan early on Tuesday damaged the aircraft of America's top military officer and wounded two maintenance crew, officers said.

Two rockets struck the vast Bagram air field overnight, with one causing damage to the C-17 used by General Martin Dempsey, chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, who departed the base later Tuesday using another plane.

The C-17 that was hit was parked on the runway along with an array of other aircraft.

Two American maintenance crew suffered minor injuries in the attack, officers said.

i think ,the afghani people must decide themselves about their safety.the taliban also belong to afghanistan, and they should learn how to share power.afghanis are destroying their own country.all these arms are comming from developed countries.all the big powers are playing with poor countries.

Bagram Airbase has never been secure. It was a disgusting situation and probably still is. Morale is very poor among US and Afghan troops there. In the interest of being "politically correct" I won't say any more, other than attacks on the base at night should be no surprise to anyone.
