Thank you General Kayani for refusing to carry out a joint military operation in N Waziristan as well as telling the Americans that Pakistan would take actions against Taliban when and where its national interests will suit the situation. USA still thinks that it can order Pakstan around to fight its war on terror while its own mighty war machine along with NATO forces could not defeat a ragtag army of few thousans Afghans freedom fighters. President Musharaf in a BBC debate proram also pointed to USA why it was unable to intercept the socalled Haqqani soldiers when they can easily reach Kabul. The fact of the matter is that USA is using the unrest in Afghanistan to help extremists in Pakistan to attack Pakistani targets and eventually find an excuse to launch an attack on the land. If this happens, USA will learn a befitting lessson which it has not learnt in other countries yet!

I see this just a ploy to cool people sentiments. Pakistan is held hostage by external forces due to our currupt and inapt system and rulers.__Situation will not change unless the people of Pakistan change and bring that change through revalution.

Brave words: "It's time that Pakistan as a sovergin state deals with world issues which is in the interest of the country and NOT what is acceptable to the US or other western countries" But a sovereign state also has the responsibility to ensure that its land is not used by hooligans to kill others in neighboring countries. As long as Pakistan does not or can not control killers, it will have to compromise with others who will do it for them. After taking billions of dollars from the USA, the killers who operate from Pakistan are still in tact and that will result in the drones.

Although NW operation will be a tactical success, but we need to weigh the situation correctly. NW is a major sanctuary to all terrorists. These terrorists will melt away the time Army commences offensive but they won't sit idle and may target innocent civilians and security forces in Pakistan. There is a need to stop all their routes and they shall not be allowed to leave the agency. Economic strangulation is one of the possibility along with siege for an indefinite period. That way they can be isolated. Besides, US be asked to gather its forces on border and not allow any kind of assistance from across the border. I am sure US won't agree to this option given the present scenario of pressurizing Pakistan. Its time now for effective state craftsmanship and diplomacy. Pakistan should avoid further attrition of its forces.

The Americans should keep their mouths shut and stop trying to be spokesmen for Pakistani army. The Taliban are a massive problem for Pakistan and muslims in general.. they need to be culled ruthlessly

It seems Pakistan is very powerful to fight with foreign counties if it is attacked but either reluctant or incapable to fight its enemies within Pakistan, therefore slaughter of innocent lives within Pakistan continues. Pakistan is not taking seriously the war on terror, not realizing that the ultimate aim of the militants and terrorists is to be the rulers of Pakistan and impose their version of Islamic laws. It also means all those who shave beard are infidels. The first casualties will be Zardari, Nawaz Sharif, Imran Khan, Parvez Kayani and millions more. Pakistan should accept help of America, India or even Devil to fight and eliminate these militants and terrorists who are the greatest threat to Pakistan.

we should stop war of others and do something for electricity on urgent basis in order to give relief to the public who have suffered a lot because of bad governance and at the same time examplery punishment to be given to those who steel electricity, this will also be a good operation in nation,s interest.

Pleased with the General's comments. We shouldn't jump just because the Amercians want's us to jump and that's been the problem with pakistani politics. It's time that Pakistan as a sovergin state deals with world issues which is in the interest of the country and NOT what is acceptable to the US or other western countries. I am sure that once Pakistan stands on its own two feet, then you will see a change on their behaviour otherwise they will continue to domiate pakistani politics.
