CHAKWAL, Aug 9: A two-and-a-half year-old child drowned in Khoday village, sources said on Thursday.

Mohammad Abdullah, the unlucky infant, was playing outside his house when he crawled to a nearby water pond installed for a wheat-grinding machine.

While playing there, his foot slipped and he fell into it and drowned. When his grandfather found him missing, he launched a desperate hunt to trace him and was left shocked to find little Abdullah dead in the pond. — Correspondent
