Ireland's Boyd Rankin KARACHI: Ireland's Boyd Rankin announced his retirement from international cricket but remains available for selection for the World Twenty20.
Rankin has played 79 times for Ireland and is now hoping to play Test cricket for England. However, he is available for selection for Ireland for the World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka as his contract with Cricket Ireland expires in December.
"I've decided to retire for several reasons, and among them is a need to reduce my workload," Rankin told ESPNCricinfo.
The fast bowler has signed a three year deal with Warwickshire and he has played for England A previously in 2011.
