ISLAMABAD: As the senate, on Tuesday, moved to pass a resolution condemning the recent wave of violence against the Rohingya Muslims of Myanmar, it was recommended that similar acts committed by extremists in Pakistan be also included in the same resolution.

When the upper house of the parliament met under the chairmanship of Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari to discuss the deteriorating situation in Myanmar, leader of the opposition Ishaq Dar suggested that Pakistan, along with other Muslim nations, should urge the United Nation to take notice.

Meanwhile, Senator Zahid Khan of Awami National Party (ANP) – the government’s coalition partner – suggested that acts of violence and terror being carried out by extremists in Pakistan be also made part of the resolution.

Earlier, Khan and several other senators belonging to ANP walked out of the house in protest against the worsening electricity crisis in the country.

No body is lauding what's happening in Pakistan. Violence should be condemned - as such. Besides, UN clearly has reports of 'State Involvement'. Also please visit the link: http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/06/15/us-myanmar-rohingya-idUSBRE85E06A20120615

ANP govt is to blame for the worsening situation in their province. Infact they never strongly oppose the drone attacks which are responsible for the cou nter terrorism by some elements. Their leader is no where to be seen , they hardly care about KPK common maen.

Have to agree with the ANP senator on this. There were more Muslims killed in Pakistan last year than in Myanmar over several years.
