LAHORE, July 28: Abid Chaudhry, who is believed to be the mastermind behind the recent fake passport and visa scam linking London Olympics, appeared before media after the death of his brother here on Saturday.

The accused had gone underground when the story hit headlines.

After his elder brother Arif Chaudhry died of a cardiac arrest, Abid faced reporters outside his residence and said his entire family was mentally upset. He claimed his brother had died because of the tension caused to him by the scam. He appealed to the superior courts and government to provide him justice.

Abid was accused by British tabloid, The Sun, of bypassing stringent security checks to smuggle people to London under the garb of Pakistani officials in exchange for a payment of Rs1 million. — Staff Reporter
