ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan said on Friday that he was satisfied with the appointment of Fakhruddin G Ebrahim as Chief Election Commissioner, DawnNews reported.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, the PTI chief said that appointment of Ebrahim as CEC was a positive sign and he trusted his character.

Khan said the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)- led coalition government wanted to undermine judiciary by bringing the laws that were in conflict with the constitution.

He said that when the judiciary talks about justice, the government complains that democracy was in danger.

Immunity makes every sense .. if u want islamic republic then judiciary was answerable to caliph in islamic republic ... and if there wont be any immunity then states like Pakistan wont even work .... every time a new PM or president sworn in he will face charges that would make no sense and in absence of immunity he will have to appear before court everytime and consequently matters of state would remain unresolved !!!! its common sense thats why every country has a presidential immunity under international law

A very solid statement from Imran to commend a good decision from ruling PPP. That tells he will accept all which is good.

It is interesting to see how the national debate/discourse has been hijacked by the elite, and the so called leaders, to discuss issues that do not directly affect the daily lives of the ordinary citizens; issues like corruption, poverty, lack of education, and lack of access to primary health care. I hope Imran can get out of this debate, and start addressing what the people really need, and his party can develop plans to solve these problems, and not just talk about them.. Khalid. .

Well if just for one moment we become idealistic and say Imran wins the election, then it would not only be a great achievement for Imran but Pakistan as well...
