I WOULD like to draw the attention of the president, prime minister and the minster of law and justice that the position of the Wafaqi Mohtasib (Federal Ombudsman) has been vacant since Oct 27, 2010, and, along with this, more than 30,000 complaints are pending in this office for implementation.

It may be pointed out that the institution of the Federal Ombudsman, like all other ombudsman institutions in Pakistan, is performing exemplary service in providing cheap and speedy justice to the citizens.

I request the president, the prime minister and the minister for law and justice to immediately appoint a Federal Ombudsman so that relief could be provided to the citizens against the maladministration of government functionaries.
