ISLAMABAD, June 25: The commander of the International Security Assistance Force, Gen John R. Allen, is likely to visit Pakistan on Wednesday.
According to an ISPR release, Gen Allen will call on the Chief of the Army Staff, Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and the meeting will focus on reviewing progress made in the implementation of the recently-evolved border coordination measures and standard operating procedures.
However, on top of the agenda will be the US demand for restoring Nato supply routes which have been lying shut since a US air strike on Salala check-post killed 24 Pakistani troops.
Gen Allen had visited Pakistan last month for a meeting of the tripartite commission together with Afghan military chief Gen Sher Mohammad Karimi.
