HYDERABAD, April 4: Medical Director of Fatimid Foundation Dr Ziaur Rehman said on Wednesday the foundation needed 3.5 to 4 million bottles of blood annually but is getting approximately 1.2 to 1.5 million bottles of blood only as a result of which many patients have died.
He was speaking at a seminar on “Thalassaemia prevention” held at the Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) here on Wednesday to create awareness among the people about the fatal disease. The seminar was organised by the Fatimid Foundation.
Trustee of the Foundation, Dr. Farooq Memon, said that Foundation was serving the cause of humanity and providing blood, medicines and other medical facilities to patients.
HCCI vice president Turrab Ali Khoja assured the foundation that HCCI would cooperate with it in saving precious lives of thalassaemia and haemophilia patients.
