KARACHI, Feb 11: The third edition of Parco Cup T20 Cricket Tournament was inaugurated here in a glittering ceremony at the UBL Sports Complex Ground on Saturday.
The opening ceremony was attended by former squash legend and record ten-time British Open champion Jahangir Khan, former Pakistan captain Moin Khan, Test cricketers Iqbal Qasim, Tauseef Ahmed, Anwar Khan and top executives of leading companies.
Managing Director of Parco, Tariq Razavi, who was chief guest on the occasion, inaugurated the event. The unveiling of the trophy was also held on the occasion and attended by the captains of the participating teams.
The host team Pak Arab Refinery Company made a great start when they hammered Total by nine wickets in the opening match. Pace bowler Mohammad Ejaz starred in his team’s victory by snapping up four wickets for 14 runs in four overs.
Sent in to bat first, Total crashed to 56 all out in the 15th over as Hammad Khan and Zaeem Baig took two wickets apiece to provide excellent support to Ejaz..
Parco in reply romped home for the loss of one wicket in 6th over. Mohammad Ali blasted five boundaries in his 24. Ibrahim Akhtar made 20.
