Taj Sehrai passes away

DADU, Oct 29: A renowned writer, historian and archaeologist, Taj Sehrai, 81, died of a heart attack at his house here on Monday night.

His funeral prayer was held here on Tuesday, which was attended by a large number of politicians, writers, intellectuals, doctors, advocates and relatives.

He was laid to rest at Lal Hindi Graveyard here.

He has left behind five sons and three daughters.

Sehrai wrote 12 books on history, geography and archaeology of Sindh and edited the weekly Sitara and Jamhoor. He was also known for his archaeological expeditions.

Sehrai was founder of the Allama I.I. Qazi Library and the Talibul Maula High School, Dadu.—Correspondent
