KARACHI, Dec 9: Sindh Minister for Labour and Industries, Mohammad Adil Siddiqi, has exhorted the doctors of Sindh Employees Social Security Institution to perform their duties with professional skill and spirit of service.

"Service to patients is not an employment but service to humanity," he said while addressing as chief guest at the concluding session of two-day training course on professional expertise. The course was organized by the Sindh Employees Social Security Institution.

Adil Siddiqi said that the promise, he had made soon after taking over the office, for establishment of a medical college for children of workers had been fulfilled and its foundation stone had been laid by Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz.

He pointed out that it would be the first college of its kind in the country where worker's children could get medical education. The minister told the doctors that all possible facilities and resources including CT Scanners had been provided to SESSI hospitals as part of modernization programme.

He directed them to mend their attitude and be courteous to show that no SESSI hospital was lesser in quality than any private hospital. He advised the doctors to let their junior doctors be benefited from their expertise which would not only improve the working of hospitals but SESSI's overall performance as well.

Adil Siddiqi said that the move over problem of 64 doctors, pending since 1999, had also been solved. The course was inaugurated by SESSI Commissioner Asif Marghoob Siddiqi, who asked doctors to adopt and practice the development taking place in the medical profession. He urged the doctors to take full advantage of the training course and make it a part of their practice. -APP
