Kidnapped cop tortured, disabled

HYDERABAD, March 30: None of the accused in a case relating to the kidnapping and torturing of police head constable Ali Hassan Solangi has been arrested although a team comprising three supervising police officers (SPOs) has been formed by the DPO of Hyderabad Imran Shaukat.

The policeman, who has become permenantly disabled, is admitted to the intensive care unit of the Liaquat University Hospital’s Jamshoro branch.

It is learnt that two of the nine accused nominated in FIR have obtained protective bail.

Occupants of a car kidnapped the police constable and took him to Deh Shah Bukhari where his hands were chopped from wrist joints and he was fired on his thigh. Hatri police lodged a case against nine accused, including taluka nazim Qasimabad Noor Mohammad Shoro, UC-4 Nazim Deedar Shoro, his son Jam Khan Shoro and others.

Two of the Shoros are reported to have obtained protective bail in Karachi.—Correspondent
