TOBA TEK SINGH, Feb 19: Mian Tahir Pervaiz Anjum, an independent candidate who lost the Feb 18 polls at PP-86, on Tuesday courted arrest before Sadar police in murder case of a union council naib nazim.

The case against Anjum, his two brothers Qayyum and Khalid, and cousin Suhail was registered for allegedly murdering Union Council No 25 naib nazim Mian Asif Saeed on polling day on Monday in Chak 383-JB Allahar Pind.

Anjum’s father Saeed informed the police that his son was a supporter of PML-Q candidate Dr Ashfaqur Rahman, who also got defeated, and the accused had been threatening him to stop supporting Rahman or face dire consequences. — Correspondent
