Afridi to lead PCB Patron’s XI

KARACHI, Jan 12: Test all-rounder Shahid Afridi on Saturday was named to lead PCB Patron’s XI against Zimbabwe in a four-day game beginning at the newly raised Defence Stadium from Monday.

A Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) spokesman released names of the 14 players on behalf of the selection committee. The squad also included international Fawad Alam and Sarfraz Ahmed, who both toured India recently with the senior team.

Emerging pace bowler Sohail Khan, who performed outstandingly in the just concluded Quaid-i-Azam Trophy, is also in the squad.

PCB Patron’s XI Squad: Shahid Afridi (captain), Khalid Latif, Nasir Jamshed, Afaq Rahim, Naumanullah, Fawad Alam, Kamran Hussain, Sarfraz Ahmed (wicket-keeper), Yasir Shah, Wahab Riaz, Sohail Khan, Rizwan Ahmed, Rauf Akbar and Khurram Manzoor.—APP
