MIRAMSHAH, Nov 8: Five children were wounded when the house of a pro-government tribal elder in the Tapi village in North Waziristan Agency was blown up on Thursday.

Local people said that miscreants dynamited the residence of Malik Hakeem Khan, some 8km west of here.

The children who were injured in the blast were taken to the agency headquarters hospital in Miramshah.

The locals said that Malik Hakeem was supporting government policies in the tribal region.

The authorities suspected that militants had carried out the attack, but no group has yet claimed responsibility.

MISSILES FIRED: A number of missiles were fired on security forces’ camp in the Mana area near the Afghan border late Wednesday night.

Security forces returned the fire.

Meanwhile, the bodies of three paramilitary soldiers who were killed in the troubled region on Wednesday were sent to their native villages on Thursday.

Four soldiers were kidnapped in the Razmak area on Tuesday of which three were shot dead.
