SHANGLA: Two members of a family were killed and three others injured when a jeep plunged into a ravine in Chakesar tehsil here the other day.

The police said that a family was returning home in Katkor after visiting a hospital in Chakesar when the jeep driver lost control over the steering, and the vehicle plunged into a deep ravine.

They said a woman and her son were killed on the spot, and three others were injured.

The police identified the deceased as Ruqiyya Bibi and Mohammad Bilal, and the injured as Musharaf Khan, Mohammad Imdad and Anwar Ali.

The police said the injured and bodies were shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Chakesar.

Later, the injured were referred to a hospital in Swat.

The police said the victims were the residents of Katkor area of Chakesar tehsil.
