SAHIWAL, Aug 3: Kassowal police on Wednesday registered a case against an assistant food controller (AFC) for issuing a bogus cheque. Broker Muhammad Sajjad Akbar of the Grain Market had paid Rs150,000 to AFC Ghulam Mujtaba on Feb 26 last for purchasing wheat, but he failed to fulfil his commitment. On Akbar’s demand of returning his money, the AFC issued a cheque to him which was bounced. Police have registered a case against the accused on the report of the broker.

CASE: Harappa police on Wednesday registered a kidnap case after three months on the direction of a local court.

Sharafat Ali was kidnapped from Tukra-15 village on May 2, 2005. His brother Abdul Jabbar had approached the local police, but officials refused to register a case. He moved the court of additional district & sessions judge on whose direction the case was registered against the three unidentified accused.
