LAHORE, July 14: Adeem Shahzad’s equaliser helped Panther Club force a 2-2 draw with Wohaib Club to reach the final stage of the National Challenge Cup soccer which is scheduled to kick off on Friday.

Panther will now play in Group-I in second stage which will be hosted by Faisalabad.

In a match played in Faisalabad, Asif Nawaz scored a goal in the 16th minute to put Panther ahead, while Samar Ishaq scored an own goal in the 73rd minute.

Wohaib staged a comeback to reduce the margin through Faisal Khan who converted a penalty kick in the 74th minute before Adeem scored the equaliser a minute before time.

Panther topped Pool C with 13 points, Railways (12), Wohaib (nine) and City Club (0) have been eliminated.

Final phase schedule:

Group-I in Faisalabad: Wapda, KRL, Panther Club, Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Police, Karachi KESC.

Group-II in Rawalpindi: Pakistan Army, KPT, NBP, PTCL, Sindh Government Press, Higher Education Commission.

July 15:  KRL v Navy, Army v HEC.

July 16:  Wapda v Police, NBP vs KPT.

July 17:   KESC v Panther Club, SGP v PTCL.

July 18:  Police v KRL, KPT v HEC.

July 19:   Navy v Panther Club, NBP v PTCL.
