Moeen Jan named envoy to Tunisia

ISLAMABAD, Aug 24: The government has appointed Moeen Jan Naim as ambassador to Tunisia.

This was said by the Foreign Office in an announcement on Sunday.

Mr Naim holds master’s degree from (Cantab), in economic Tripos Cambridge University and MSc in Defence and Strategic Studies from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad.

He joined the Foreign Service in October 1970 and held various diplomatic assignments in missions at Bonn (1972-73), Berlin (1981-83), Kathmandu (1983-85) and London (1994-97). He also served as ambassador to Romania (1997-2000).

At present, he is serving as director-general at Foreign Office, since August 2000.—APP
