QUETTA: The Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) on Friday night decided to boycott both Balochistan and National Assembly sessions, scheduled for Saturday, against alleged rigging in the recently held general elections.

Sources in BNP-M told Dawn.com that party chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal, MPA Mir Hamal Kalmati and MNA Essa Noori would not take oath on Saturday.

They said the party’s candidates were deliberately defeated in the May 11 polls and their victory was turned into defeat. “Under a pre-planned conspiracy our candidates’ results were delayed,” they said.

A meeting of the BNP’s central committee is scheduled to be held on Saturday. Sardar Akhtar Mengal would chair the meeting.

Agha Hassan Baloch, the central secretary information told Dawn.com important decisions would be made in the meeting.

“Whether we remain in parliament or quit, it would be decided in CEC meeting,” Baloch said.
