Violence in Karachi claims six lives

KARACHI: At least six persons, including a woman, were killed and two others were killed in various firing incidents in the city whereas three children were injured in a grenade attack on a school in Karachi’s Orangi Town area on Friday, DawnNews reported.

Suspected extortionists lobbed a hand grenade at a private school in Balochi Goth area of Karachi’s Orangi town area, over non-payment of extortion money. Three children sustained minor injuries as a result of the blast.

The grenade exploded with a huge bang causing fear and panic in the area.

Morover, a four-day-old corpse of a woman was discovered in Chaman Colony area of Malir in Karachi whereas another body of man bearing marks of torture was found in New Karachi Industrial area.

Another two persons were killed in a gun-firing incident in City Railway Colony area. Both the victims hailed from Khyber Pakhtunkwa’s Mansehra city.

Two more persons lost their lives to gun shot wounds suffered near Dua hotel on Mauripur road in Chakiwara area of Lyari.

In another incident two people were wounded when unknown persons opened fire at hotel in Pak colony area of Karachi.
