Former KP law minister arrested after court rejects pre-arrest bail application

PESHAWAR: Former law minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Barrister Arshad Abdullah, was arrested on Wednesday from a session court in Charsadda after a court cancelled his pre-aarest bail application in a case registered against him for attacking a police checkpost and freeing an apprehended associate.

Police had earlier lodged an FIR against Advocate Abdullah and 18 others who are accused of attacking a police checkpost in Charsadda’s Utmanzai area on April 26 and freeing an associate who was apprehended by the security personnel at the checkpost for carrying an unlicensed weapon.

Abdullah and his accomplice were arrested withing the court premesis and were handed over to the City police station.
