SC orders promotions of over 200 DSPs in Punjab

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Wednesday ordered Inspector General Punjab Police to promote over 200 DSPs, DawnNews reported.

The apex court's Lahore registry had been hearing a petition filed by DSP Rana Aslam, DSP Safdar Raza Kazmi and others from the Punjab police over their promotions in the department.

After concluding the case's hearing, Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jilani directed IG Punjab Police, Aftab Sultan, to constitute a committee and promote over 200 DSPs.

The court moreover directed the provincial inspector general to present a report on the implementation of the ruling.
